Recycling

Our aerosol cans are made of 25% recycled steel. The production of new steel actually requires at least 25 percent "old" high-grade steel, or "scrap" steel.

Our aerosol cans also are 100% recyclable in the limited, but growing number of communities that accept aerosol cans for recycling. In the United States in 1995, more than 55.9 percent of all steel cans were recovered for recycling. According to the National Paints & Coatings Association (NPCA), more than 3,500 municipal locations currently collect empty aerosol cans.

General aerosol recycling instructions are quite simple:

  • Empty the container through normal use - DO NOT PUNCTURE!
  • Remove the plastic overcap (if detachable)
  • Put the empty can in the recycling bin

If you have questions or concerns, check with your local recycling program coordinator to get specific instructions for local programs. Or, if you are interested in more information about steel recycling, you can go the Steel Recycling Institute (SRI) web site at http:\\www.recycle-steel.org or call them at 1-800-876-7274.

Thank you for recycling !!

Storage/Disposal

Store in cool, dry area away from heat or open flame. Do not reuse empty container. If recycling is not available, wrap the container and discard in the trash.
